I'm a staff writer at the Texas Observer in Austin, covering crime and education (sometimes both at once), and an experienced news photographer and video producer. I've been published in Politico Magazine, Grantland, Mashable, Pacific Standard and the Dallas Observer.

I studied magazine writing at Northwestern University and photojournalism at the University of Texas at Austin.
